Answer

 NO... and for many reasons

The average income of private rental tenants is around $74,000 in Australia. NRAS tennants can earn upto $125,ooo before they become ineligible - therefore most tennants are your average mum and dad or “middle Australia” families on good incomes but unable to acquire the deposits or to afford the mortgage payments needed for home ownership

Rigorous selection criteria are applied by the Australian Government to the location, design and amenity of NRAS dwellings to ensure quality properties are built to the highest standards and comply with State, Territory and Local Government planning and building codes and requirements.
